Do you love to send or receive flowers? Does just the thought of seeing someone open a door to see the flower delivery truck parked outside just bring a warm smile to your face? Is it a very special moment for you when they arrive at your desk? Then you might be thinking that you are headed towards a down time, with Valentine’s Day having just passed and all the Winter holidays behind us.
But fear not.
The end of Winter and beginning of Spring is full of appropriate and fun occasions where sending flowers is totally appropriate. Let’s start counting the ways.
Religious Occasions
Easter and Passover are right around the corner. These are two major religious celebrations where flowers are a most appropriate gift or reminder to families that you are thinking about them while they celebrate. As a bonus they make their houses look and smell great when they have their family and close friends over to celebrate.
Personal Celebrations
You can always think of a handful of people who have a birthday or an anniversary coming up in the next few weeks. You can always send a chocolate gift basket or a cute teddy bear – flower combination to remind them you are thinking of them.
Milestones
With Spring comes College graduations. Whether or not you can make the party, let them know what you think of their achievement. During their last few weeks while studying for finals and looking for a job, receiving flowers will help them relax and smile for a moment.
For those in the northern part of the country, the first day we can take a walk outside without our jackets on is something to celebrate.
Holidays
You may not think of it as one, but St Patrick’s Day is actually a pretty busy holiday in the flower industry. If you know someone who is Irish (or is Irish for one day of the year), send a nice flower arrangement and note to help them celebrate this March.
And you can always send flowers or a plant to yourself. They make for great décor in rooms that you spend any time in, and especially for guests rooms when you have visitors come to your home.
So even though all the Valentine’s Day flowers have been delivered, that doesn’t mean the flower van goes into hibernation until Mother’s Day. It’s always a great occasion to send flowers.
